Openboard causing very high cpu usage when using eraser

I am using Openboard on a Lenovo Yoga 920 with Ubuntu 20.04 and I have noticed that when I use the eraser with my Lenovo active pen 2, the cpu usage peaks up to 700%. Sometimes Openboard hangs and I have to restart the program.

- I tried using the pen with xournapp and did not have cpu issues, therefore I don't think this is a hardware problem.
- I was using Openboard on the same machine last year with Ubuntu 18.04 and had never noticed these issues. I had very few problems during last semester.

I really like using Openboard for my classes, but these constant hangs are making it very difficult. Can anyone please help?

I have been facing the same issue since the last upadate 1.6.4 under Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu). This is a REAL problem as OB can be usuable sometime (the eraser at least).

Do someone have some clues to fix this ? I use this app a lot for my classes...

As a complementary information : i noticed that the conflict is mainly due, on my laptop, to touchegg (gesture) application. When I kill it, the ereaser no longuer messes... Hope this helps.

The problem gets more obvious with more "move" events fired while using the eraser. It might be that touchegg creates more such events than using the mouse or stylus. But anyway I assume that you see a high CPU usage even without touchegg no matter whether you use mouse, touch or pen.

I clearly do, yes !

My point was that when killing touchegg (but I always use the stylus), OB still be usable. But that's not the question you're right, the CPU usage still excessive no matter what.

Do we know if this problem is under consideration to be fixed ? I'm suprised to not see this issue listed as "know issues" of 1.6.4 download page, so I'm wondering if this is gonna be fixed or not...

Still a very annoying problem with daily usage :-/

Yes, this problem is fixed in 1.7.0, which is about to be released in the next two weeks. See also the links I already posted in an earlier comment:
