Disable Automatic Updates Dialog on windows

Message par JuanJosePablos » 17 févr. 2019, 13:27

Hi,
I am searching a way to disable the dialog about an update available for all the computers on the school.
I know that there is a file:

Code : Tout sélectionner

C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenBoard\etc\OpenBoard.config

[App]
HideCheckForSoftwareUpdate=false
EnableAutomaticSoftwareUpdates=true
But I wonder if there is a way to modify using the command line

Hi,

In our school, we use a version of OpenBoard which has these lines in OpenBoard.config :
HideCheckForSoftwareUpdate=true
EnableAutomaticSoftwareUpdates=false
EnableSoftwareUpdates=false

No alert for any update and the line "Contôler les mises à jour" (in french) doesn't appear in the OpenBoard menu.

As OpenBord.config is a text file, you can probably edit it if necessary.

Thanks for the reply, but every new version this file get overwrite. So every new version you need to modify this file. In windows you can add on the user's OpenBord.config but anyway I was searching a way to modify for command line, so it can be automatize in all the computers of the school.

I had found a fix for this issue using perl:

Code : Tout sélectionner

perl -pi -e "s/EnableAutomaticSoftwareUpdates=true/EnableAutomaticSoftwareUpdates=false/g" "c:\Program Files (x86)\OpenBoard\etc\OpenBoard.config"
